#19 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Haverford, 8-1, on Friday

The 19th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Haverford College, 8-1, on Friday evening. The Eagles impove to 10-3 on the season.

Mary Washington continued its dominance in doubles, winning all three once again. Moses Hutchison and Andrew Watson defeated George Jiang and Stefan Johnson, 8-5, at one, Rishi Charan Shankar and Nick Spera defeated Kley and Chow, 8-1, at two. At three, Peter Leese and Cole Tecce downed Edmonds and Minerva, 8-6, at three.

In singles, Hutchison topped Jiang at one, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4, and Charan Shankar downed Andreas Wingert at two, 7-6, 7-5. Watson defeated Daniel Loder, 7-5, 6-1, at three, and Spera beat Adam Chow at five, 7-6, 6-1. Leese topped Abhinan Nallapareddy, 6-3, 6-2, at six.

The Eagles will visit Swarthmore College on Saturday.
