#20 UMW Men's Tennis Tops #35 Washington & Lee, 7-2, on Saturday

The 20th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated 35th ranked Washington & Lee University, 7-2, on Saturday in Lexington, Va. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles jumped ahead by sweeping all three doubles matches. Andrew Watson and Moses Hutchinson defeated Eli Hirshberg and Will Kistler at one, 8-2, and Rishi Charan Shankar and Nick Spera won at two over Evan Erb and Evan Brady, 8-4, and Peter Leese and Cole Tecce won at three over Bobby Neuner and Alex Fedor, 8-3.

In singles, Hutchison topped Erb at one, 7-5, 6-1, and Charan Shankar topped Kistler at two, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0 (10-5). Spera defeated Connor Coleman at five, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1), and Priyan Desilva topped James Kurani at six, 6-3, 6-1.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday against Kalamazoo College in San Antonio, Texas.
