The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the ninth and final week of the 2021 tennis regular season. Mary Washington junior Claire Coleman earned C2C Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week accolades, while Mary Washington junior Moses Hutchison claimed C2C Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors.

WOMEN'S TENNIS: Claire Coleman - Mary Washington

Junior Claire Coleman led Mary Washington to a 9-0 win over rival Salisbury on Saturday to remain undefeated against NCAA Division III opponents this season. She and doubles partner Amanda Hagino scored an 8-0 victory at two doubles against the Gulls, and then Coleman stepped up to one singles to defeat Veronica Cuellar, 6-4, 6-4. She improves to 7-1 on the season in singles play against DIII foes.

MEN'S TENNIS: Moses Hutchison - Mary Washington

Mary Washington junior Moses Hutchison was crucial in gaining two points as Mary Washington held on for a 5-4 victory over Salisbury on Saturday to remain undefeated in conference play. Hutchison teamed with new partner Cole Tecce at one doubles to defeat Alec Angradi and Ian Siew, 8-6, helping to give UMW a 2-1 lead after doubles. Hutchison then down Angradi in the tightest of matches, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6).

LEAGUE HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport sophomore Alec Strause won in both singles and doubles against undefeated Johns Hopkins ... In a matchup of regionally-ranked doubles tandems, Strause and partner Ryan Macy were leading, 6-4, when the Johns Hopkins pair of Thomas and James Yu retired ... He then won his singles match at No. 3 in straight sets, dropping Daniel Ardila (6-4, 6-2)...Salisbury's Patrick MacLean earned two wins on Saturday against Mary Washington. MacLean and Stefan Hein teamed up to collect an 8-6 win in No. 3 doubles before cruising to a 6-1. 6-2 victory over Cole Tecce in No. 3 singles.
