UMW Men's Tennis Edges Salisbury, 5-4, to Remain Unbeaten in C2C Play

The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Salisbury University, 5-4, on Saturday at the Edward Hegmann Tennis Complex, and in doing so improved to 9-2 on the season, and 4-0 in Coast 2 Coast Athletic Complex play.

The Eagles gained a 2-1 advatage after doubles, as Moses Hutchison and Cole Tecce defeated Alec Angradi and Ian Siew, 8-6, at one, and Rishi Charan Shankar and Peter Leese topped Ryan Santmyer and Brad Pappalardo, 8-4, at two.

In singles, Leese won at four, 6-1, 6-2 over Santmyer, and UMW gained the win with thrilling victories from Hutchison at one over Angradi, 7-6 (7), 7-6 (6), and from Hart at five over Pappalardo, 6-4, 7-6 (7).

The Eagles will be the top seed in next week's C2C Tournament, which will be held at UMW.
