UMW Men's Tennis Falls at Division I Longwood, 7-0, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision at Division I Longwood University on Saturday afternoon in Farmville, Va. The Eagles slip to 1-4 on the season, with three losses to Division I opponents.

In doubles play, UMW's Moses Hutchison and Andrew Watson gained an 8-7 (4) win at one. Priyan Desilva and Rishi Charan Shankar fell at two, 8-5, and Nick Spera and Cole Tecce fell at three, 8-3.

In singles, Hutchison fell, 7-6 (3), 6-4, at one, and Watson fell at two, 6-2, 7-6 (4). Charan Shankar lost at three, 6-4, 6-2, Artis Hart fell at four, 6-3, 3-6, 15-13, Peter Leese dropped his match at five, 6-1, 6-2, and Spera fell at six, 6-1, 6-4.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they visit Washington and Lee University at 1:00 p.m.
