#14 UMW Men's Tennis Tops John Carroll, 8-1, on Monday

The 14th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated John Carroll University, 8-1, on Monday afternoon in Orlando, Fla. at the USTA National Campus. The Eagles improve to 5-0 on the season.

The Eagles started with a sweep of doubles, as Joseph Brown and Priyan Desilva won at one, 8-6, Cole Tecce and Andrew Watson won at two, 8-4, and Michael Fleming and Nicholas Spera won at three, 8-7 (1).

In singles, Desilva won at six, 6-0, 6-1, before Watson gained the clinching point at three, winning 6-2, 6-1. Moses Hutchison would win at one, 6-4, 6-2; Brown won at two, 6-2, 0-6, 10-6; and Fleming won at four, 6-0, 6-4.

The Eagles will take on Kenyon College on Friday in Orlando.
