#16 UMW Men's Tennis Blanks St. Mary's, 9-0, on Wednesday in Road CAC Action

The 16th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision at St. Mary's College of MD in Capital Athletic Conference play on Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 16-4 on the season.

In doubles, Moses Hutchison and Michael Fleming topped Jon Garel and Ethan Garren, 8-5 at one; Patrick Hughes and Cole Tecce beat Ron Stith and Sam Shantz, 8-0, at two; and Joseph Brown and Priyan Desilva topped Jack Brendenburg and Jacob Bartholow, 8-1, at three.

In singles, Hughes topped Garel, 6-1, 6-2, at one; Hutchison stopped Garren at two, 6-3, 6-4; Fleming beat Stith at three, 6-0, 6-0; Brown defeated Shantz, 6-1, 6-0; and Tecce and Desilva won by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores at five and six.

The Eagles will host Swarthmore College on Sunday at noon.
