FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Mary Washington junior Michael Fleming was named the CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for Feb. 26, 2019.

Mary Washington junior Michael Fleming won a pair of singles matches and three doubles matches as 20th ranked Mary Washington took on three nationally ranked opponents in #14 Kenyon, #36 Stevens, and #23 Sewanee. In singles, he claimed a 6-4, 7-5 win at two over Stevens, and took a three set win over Sewanee, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3. In doubles play, he and Patrick Hughes won at three over Stevens, 8-0, and then downed Kenyon and Sewanee at two by 8-2 scores.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport's Ryan Macy started rookie campaign with two wins in singles and two in doubles ... Defeated nationally-ranked Austin Gu (#27) from Johns Hopkins ... Won both singles and doubles in collegiate duals debut against Virginia Wesleyan...Salisbury's Patrick MacLean is the only Sea Gull to play both singles and doubles in all four matches this season, winning each time. MacLean won twice at No. 1 doubles, with Alec Angradi both by 8-5 scores. He also won at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, by 8-2 and 8-1 scores, respectively. In singles, MacLean played at three different positions, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 against Bridgewater (Va.). At No. 4 he claimed wins of 6-2, 6-4 and 6-3, 2-6, 10-5. And at No. 6, he picked up a 6-3, 6-1.
