#17 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Southern Virginia, 6-0, To Advance To The CAC Finals

The seventeenth-ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Southern Virginia, 6-0, in the CAC semifinals on Wednesday afternoon in Fredericksburg, VA. The Eagles improve to 19-5 on the season. 

UMW took a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles action. Ryland Byrd and Michael Fleming won at one doubles 8-2; Moses Hutchison and Matt Miles won at two doubles 8-2; Derek Hagino and Patrick Hughes won at three doubles 8-5.

In singles action, the Eagles secured three wins to defeat the Knights. Fleming won at four singles 6-0, 6-2; Byrd won at five singles 6-0, 6-1; and Cole Tecce won at five singles 6-0, 6-0. 

UMW will be back in action on Saturday as they will host CNU in the CAC Championship at a time TBA.
