#14 UMW Men’s Tennis Tops Salisbury, 7-2, on Thursday

The fourteenth-ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team topped Salisbury University, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon in Salisbury, Md. UMW improves 15-2 on the season, and 6-0 in the CAC.

In doubles action, UMW won two out of the three matches. Ryland Byrd and Michael Fleming won at one doubles 8-6, while Ryan Berry and Cole Tecce won at three doubles 8-6. The Seagulls took two doubles 9-8.

In singles action, the Eagles took five of the six matches. Matt Miles won at one singles 7-6, 6-3; Hutchison won at three singles 2-6, 6-3, 7-6; Fleming won at four singles 6-3, 7-5; Byrd won at five singles 7-5, 6-3; and Derek Hagino won at six singles 6-3, 6-4. Salisbury took two singles 6-3, 4-6, 10-7. 

UMW will be back in action on Saturday as they host #9 Carnegie Mellon at 12 p.m.
