#16 UMW Men's Tennis Blanks Salisbury on Thursday in CAC Match

The 16th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team swept a 9-0 decision from Capital Athletic Conference foe Salisbury University on Thursday afternoon at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 11-4 on the season.

The Eagles wept the doubles action, with Ryland Byrd and Michael Fleming winning at one, 8-3, Derek Hagino and Matt Miles winning at two, 8-4, and Patrick Hughes and Ryan Berry winning at three, 8-5.

In singles, Miles won at one, 6-1, 6-3, obver Colt Williamson, Fleming won at two, 6-2, 6-4, over Ian Siew, and Joseph Brown won at three, 6-1, 6-1, over Pat MacLean. Hagino beat Grant Hudson at four, 6-0, 6-2, Byrd beat Matt Ryan, 6-4, 6-1, at five, and Berry beat Andrew Rainger at six, 6-1, 6-4.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday when they host Southern Virginia at 10 am, and TCNJ at 1:00 pm.
