#21 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Franklin & Marshall, 7-2, on Sunday

The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team improved to 10-4 on the season with a 7-2 victory over Franklin and Marshall College on Sunday at the UMW Indoor Tennis Center.

The 21st ranked Eagles swept all three doubles matches. Ryland Byrd and Michael Fleming won at one, 8-2, and Matt Miles and Derek Hagino won at two, 8-3. Patrick Hughes and Max Fritsch pulled off a come from behind win at three, 9-7, for the Eagles' third point of the day.

In singles, the Eagles picked up straight set wins from Miles at one, 6-1, 6-1, Hughes at two, 6-0, 6-2, Fleming at three, 6-0, 7-6 (4), and Hagino at five, 6-1, 6-0.

The Eagles, winners of four straight matches, will be back in action on Thursday when they host Salisbury University at 4:00 p.m. in Capital Athletic Conference play.
