#27 UMW Men's Tennis Falls to Division I Longwood in Spring Opener, 5-2

#27 UMW Men's Tennis Falls to Division I Longwood in Spring Opener, 5-2

On Saturday afternoon, the University of Mary Washington men's tennis team was defeated by Longwood University, 6-1, as they start the spring season with a 0-1 record.

The Eagles were able to win the third doubles match from sophomores Derek Hagino and Matt Miles, so the doubles point went to Longwood since they had already won the first two doubles matches.

Then for singles, Hagino was able to pick up a point in a win against Lachlan Hanser 6-2, 6-4. Joseph Brown won a three setter for the Eagles at five, 4-6, 7-6 (5), 7-5 for their second point.

The Eagles will look to return to action on Sunday, February 19 when they host Division I George Mason at 3:00 p.m.
