The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team began the 2016 fall season by hosting George Mason University, Washington & Lee University, and North Carolina Wesleyan College this weekend in the annual Kickoff Classic.
Highlights for the Eagles included an 8-5 record in doubles play, and two-win weekends from freshman Joseph Brown, sophomores Ryland Byrd, Derek Hagino, Ryan Berry, and Nolan Perugini.
In all, the Eagles captured seven third set superbreakers over the weekend.
The Eagles will return to action on Friday-Sunday at the Naval Academy Invitational in Annapolis.
