#27 UMW Men's Tennis Falls at #24 Swarthmore, 5-4, on Sunday

The 27th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at 24th ranked Swarthmore College on Sunday afternoon in Pennsylvania. The Eagles fall to 14-7 on the season.

The Eagles opened play with a pair of wins in doubles. Brandon Griffin and Matt Miles won at one, 8-6, and Eric Hurwitz and Max Fritsch won at two, 8-6.

In singles play, the Eagles picked up wins by Miles at three in three sets, 6-3, 6-7, 6-2, and from Derek Hagino at five, 6-4, 7-6.

The Eagles will return to action on Saturday when they host 21st ranked Christopher Newport University at 1:00 p.m. in a key Capital Athletic Conference matchup.
