#28 UMW Men's Tennis Tops Frostburg and #38 TCNJ on Saturday

The 28th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Frostburg State University, 6-0, and 38th ranked The College of New Jersey, 6-3, on Saturday, to improve to 14-6 on the season.

At Frostburg in morning action, Max Fritsch and Alex Jobeus won at one doubles, 8-2, and Ryan Berry and Patrick Hughes won at two, 8-0.

In singles, Hughes won at one, 6-2, 6-0, and Berry won at two, 6-1, 6-0. Jobeus was victorious at three, 6-2, 6-1, and Fritsch won at four, 6-1, 6-0.

In afternoon action against TCNJ, the Eagles led after doubles, 2-1, picking up wins from Brandon Griffin and Matt Miles at one, 8-6, and from Derek Hagino and Hughes at three, 8-6.

In singles, Griffin won at one, 6-2, 6-4, and Hurwitz won at two, 5-7, 6-1, 10-3. Miles won at three, 7-6 (5), 6-4, and Fritsch won at six, 6-4, 6-3.

The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday when they visit Swarthmore College at 3:00 p.m.
