#15 UMW Men's Tennis Falls at #11 Pomona-Pitzer, 5-4, on Thursday Night

The 15th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at #11 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Thursday night. The Eagles slip to 7-2 on the season.

UMW jumped ahead in doubles play, taking two of three matches. Stratton Gilmore and Brandon Griffin won at one, 9-7, and Eric Hurwitz and Nolan Perugini came from behind to win at two, 9-7. Pomona-Pitzer won at three, 8-6.

In singles play, the Eagles won at three, with Griffin taking a 6-2, 6-2 win, while Matt Miles won at six, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. The Eagles fell at one and two in three sets, falling just shy of their eighth win of the season.

UMW will wrap up its California trip on Saturday when they face the University of Redlands.
