Mary Washington freshman Nolan Perugini was honored as the CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week after opening his collegiate career by going undefeated at the UMW Kickoff Classic. Perugini won both of his singles matches in straight sets, beating Grayson Lowenthal of Christopher Newport, 6-1, 6-3, and David Chang of N.C. Wesleyan, 6-1, 6-2. In doubles, he teamed with Alex Cragg to finish 3-0, topping two teams from N.C. Wesleyan and one from CNU to finish undefeated.

Christopher Newport freshman Dillon Sykes won his first two collegiate singles matches at the UMW Kickoff Classic, including a win over Division I George Mason's Bing Waid (6-1, 6-2) ... St. Mary's freshman Connor McKissick posted a 4-0 week at No. 4 singles and No. 1 doubles in St. Mary's 1-1 season-opening weekend ... York senior Jake Greenstein led the Spartans to a season-opening 6-3 win over Catholic on Sunday, combining with Matt Rosenkrantz to win the second doubles match 8-2 before posting a 6-0, 6-3 second singles win to provide York with a pair of victories.
