Eagles Tennis Remains #17 Nationally; Sits at #4 in the Region in New ITA Poll

The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team sits at #17 in the nation, and #4 in the Atlantic South Region, according to the new ITA Polls. The Eagles are 12-3, 1-0 CAC on the year.

UMW remained at #17 in the nation, and are #4 in the Atlantic South behind Johns Hopkins, Emory, and Carnegie Mellon. A pair of doubles teams are regionally ranked for UMW, including Tyler Carey and Evan Charles, as well as Brandon Griffin and Stratton Gilmore. Charles/Carey are #2 in the region, while Griffin/Gilmore are #9 of the top 15.

A trio of Eagles also earned regional singles rankings this week. Tyler Carey sits at #6 following his big singles win over #1 nationally ranked Abhishnek Alla of Carnegie Mellon. Evan Charles (#24) and Stratton Gilmore (#25) also cracked the top 25. 

The Eagles return to action this Sunday, when they travel to take on Division I Longwood. The match with the Lancers begins at 1:00 p.m.
