The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 decision at #21 Washington & Lee University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 14-11 on the season.
The Eagles jumped ahead with a pair of wins in doubles. Evan Charles and Sam Wichlin won at one, 8-5, and Alex Blakhin and David Lunding-Johansson won at three, 8-3.
The Eagles cashed in with a pair of wins in singles, including a big win for sophomore Tyler Carey over one of the top singles players in the country in Hayden White, 6-1, 7-5. Kaleb Nguyen won at six, 6-2, 6-2. Evan Charles and Lunding-Johansson carried their matches to three sets before falling.
