UMW Men's Swimming Falls to Frostburg State on Saturday

The Mary Washington men's swim team fell to Frostburg State on Senior Day in Fredericksburg, Va. on Saturday afternoon. The men lost to the Bobcats, 133-129, to cap off their dual meet season.

Highlights

200-yard medlay relay: The meet started out strong as Tyler SykesJohnathan Zimmer, Preston Trevey, and Eli Polovchik took home first place (1:38.24).

100-yard backstroke: Will Burkey (53.98) took home first place by nearly three seconds over teammate Alex Aung and Sykes, who finished second and third, respectively.

100-yard breaststroke: Aidan Deege (58.86) took home first over Conrad Tan, who placed third.

200-yard butterfly: Zimmer (1:56.68) won the event by nearly six seconds over teammates Sean Gitchell (second) and Larry Almariento (third).

50-yard freestyle: Zachary Cherry placed third in the event.

100-yard freestyle: Burkey took home the gold (48.36) over two Frostburg swimmers.

200-yard backstroke: Kyle Johnson (1:59.96) finished first, ahead of teammate Alex Aung, who finished third.

200-yard breaststrokeTan and Zimmer placed second and third, respectively.

100-yard butterfly: Cherry placed third in the 100-yard butterfly.

200-yard IM: Zimmer took home first in the event (1:59.03), while Tan finished behind him.
