UMW Men's Swim Edges Out Catholic, 134-128

The Mary Washington men's swim team took home another victory on Saturday afternoon after nearly edging out Catholic, 134-128, in Fredericksburg, Va. The Eagles trailed for most of the afternoon before coming back to lead by one point in the second-to-last event and clinched with with a relay victory to close out the afternoon.

Individual:

Johnathan Zimmer took home the gold in the 200 yard butterfly (1:57.19).

Kyle Johnson finished first in the 200yard backstroke (1:59.65) and third in the men's 1000 yard freestyle (10:28.93).

Jakob Robinette took home second place in the 200 yard freestyle (1:47.26.

Logan Dewalt finished third in the 200 free (1:48.23).

William Burkey finished second in the 100 yard backstroke (54.13) and in the 100 yard free (48.30).

Alex Aung took home third in the 100 yard backstroke (56.47).

Aidan Deege finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:01.16).

Conrad Tan finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:02.15) and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:14.60).

Larry Almariento finished third in the 200 butterfly (2:04.91).

Zachary Cherry (22.68) and Eli Polovchik (22.70) finished first and second in the 50 freestyle.

AJ.. Green finished third in the 200 yard backstroke (2:03.96).

Cherry won his second event of the afternoon in the 100 yard fly (53.79).

And Zimmer put the Eagles up by a point in the second-to-last event with a win in the 200 yard IM (1:59.33).

Relays:

To cap off the meet, Burkey, Darl Everett, Robinette and Dewalt teamed up to ice the match for the Eagles with a victory (3:11.55).
