UMW Men's Swimming Opens Day One of Metro Swim Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team opened the first full day of the Metro Conference Swimming Championships in Camden, N.J. on Friday, and stand in fourth place heading to Saturday's events.

The first event, the 800 yard freestyle relay, kicked off the event on Thursday night, and the Eagle men finished third, as Kolin Hoffman, Jakob Robinette, Logan Dewalt, and Conrad Tan finished with a time of 6:56.03, better than five seconds faster than their seed time.

On Friday, Kai Green finished in seventh place in the 50 yard free style at 20.83, and the 200 yard medley relay, consisting of Paul Datovech, Stephen Wallach, Thomas Leckrone, and Green finished fourth at 1:32.34.

UMW stands in fourth place after Friday's events, with the championships continuing on Saturday morning preliminaries and evening finals.
