UMW Men's Swim Team Tops Catholic, 191.5-69.5

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team defeated Catholic University, 191.5-69.5, on Saturday afternoon at Goolrick Natatorium. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles started with a victory in the 200 yard medley relay, as Paul Datovech, Stephen Wallach, Zack Cherry, and Ellis Winfree took first at 1:39.25. The Eagles also finished second in the race, as Alex Aung, Aidan Deege, Kai Green, and Brendan Huber-Wilker finished second at 1:41.47. Conrad Tan finished first in the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:12.52, and Kolin Hoffman won the 200 yard freestyle at 1:45.46. 

Datovech then won the 100 backstroke at 55.52, Jakob Robinette took first in the 200 butterfly at 2:05.77, and Winfree won the 50 free at 22.06. Huber-Wilker won the 100 free at 50.17, and Aung won the 200 backstroke at 2:03.96, before Hoffman won the 500 free at 4:59.79. Robinette won the 100 fly at 54.43, Tan won the 200 IM at 2:01.58, and the Eagles finished 1-2-3 in the 200 free relay, with Huber-Wilker, Logan DeWalt, Green, and Winfree taking first at 1:28.90.

The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday when they visit Gettysburg College at 1:00 p.m.
