UMW Men’s Swimming Falls to Roanoke, 162-100, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming fell to Roanoke College, 162-100, on Saturday evening in Salem, VA. Roanoke used this meet as their shave, taper, and suit meet. The Eagles slip to 2-3 on the season.

Since it was the shave, taper, and suit meet for the Maroons, they shaved many seconds off of their times for the meet. Gareth Mancini recorded the first win of the day on the men's side as he won the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 55.70. Garrett Ross placed first in the 50 yard freestyle at 21.76.

Austin Farrar finished first in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.61. Thomas Leckrone earned a first place finish in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 52.89. Noah Carpenter finished second in both the 1000 yard freestyle and the 400 yard IM. Bradley Torrington took second in the 200 yard butterfly.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday as they will host St. Mary's at 1 p.m.
