UMW Men's Swimmers Take Second at Gettysburg Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team finished in second place at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Saturday in Gettysburg, Pa.

On Saturday, senior Jeff Leckrone finished first in the 100 yard butterfly at 51.08. Austin Farrar was third in the 200 freestyle at 1:43.64, Freshman Jonathan Brooks was second in the 100 breaststroke at 59.11, and Noah Carpenter took fourth. 

Freshman Matthew Curran won the 100 backstroke at 52.40, with Luke Bergstrom taking third. The 800 free relay of Farrar, Joshua Duke, Brian Harnish, and Kolin Hoffman finished second at 7:04.58. In the 200 free relay, Jeff Leckrone, Gareth Mancini, Hoffman, and Garrett Ross was second at 1:26.03. 

Farrar was second in the 200 IM at 1:56.04, and Ross was second in the 50 freestyle at 21.31.

The Eagles will be back in action on January 12 when they host Salisbury University at 1 p.m.
