UMW Men’s Swimming Falls at Washington & Lee, 161-101, in Season Opener

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team fell at Washington & Lee, 161-101, in their season opener on Friday evening in Lexington, VA.

Senior Jeffrey Leckrone highlighted the day for the Eagles as he had two first place finishes and a second place finish. Leckrone won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.77, and then took first in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:08.2. 

Junior Austin Farrar won the 1000 yard freestyle by 11 seconds with a time of 10:15.76. He then took second place in the 500 yard freestyle and missed out on first by just three seconds. 

Freshman Thomas Leckrone captured his first career win in the 100 yard butterfly as he timed in at 52.87.

The Eagles will be back in the pool on Saturday, October 20th, as they will travel to Pennsylvania to take on Franklin & Marshall and Widener.
