Jeffrey Leckrone Named CAC Men's Swimmer of the Week for the Third Time

FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- Mary Washington junior Jeffrey Leckrone collected CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season on Jan. 23, 2018.

Mary Washington junior Jeffrey Leckrone collected CAC Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season after tallying seven victories in a pair of dual meet wins for the Eagles last week. He picked up individual wins over St. Mary's in the 200 breaststroke at 2:08.83 and the 100 yard butterfly at 53.54, and was also a member of the winning 200 yard medley relay. In the win over Marymount, Leckrone collected wins in the 100 breaststroke at 59.03, the 100 freestyle at 48.74, and the 200 IM at 2:00.22. He was also a member of the winning 200 medley relay.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All six CAC teams competed last week ... Mary Washington and York are both 3-0 in CAC dual meets this season ... Frostburg State senior Christian March collected two wins and a second-place finish in Frostburg's loss at York. March won the 100 (1:00.13) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:15.67) and took runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle at 22.34. March has now won a total of 21 individual events on the season ... Marymount junior Isaiah Jones collected top finishes in his two individual races at Salisbury over the weekend in the 50-meter freestyle (24.68) and the 100-meter freestyle (54.88) ... St. Mary's junior Colin Cassady helped the 200 freestyle relay team take first against Mary Washington with a time of 1:32.11. He also took first in the 50 freestyle at 22.80 and second in the 100 freestyle at 51.24 ... Salisbury junior Jake Ryan earned an individual first-place finish over Marymount on Saturday afternoon in the 200-meter freestyle event, earning a time of 2:06.52. He was also a member of two relay teams that captured first-place finishes on the afternoon. Ryan's 200-meter medley team finished with a time of 1:53.46, and his 200-meter freestyle team finished with a time of 1:40.19 ... York freshman Keven Stahl added to his impressive freshman year as he won more individual races and was a member of a winning relay team as the Spartans downed Frostburg State 288-93 win over the Bobcats. Stahl set a pair of new pool records as he cruised to victories in the 1650 freestyle and the 400 IM while he also swam the anchor in the 200 freestyle relay. Stahl finished the 1650 free with a time of 16:10.12, winning the race by over two minutes. He won the 400 IM with a record time of 4:10.08, winning the race by over 24 seconds. Stahl now has 17 individual wins for the year and he already owns the top times in the CAC in the 1650 and the 400 IM.
