UMW Men's Swimming Tops St. Mary's, 192-68

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team defeated St. Mary's College, 192-68, on Saturday in St. Mary's City, Md. 

The Eagles won the 200 medley relay, finishing 1-2. Luke Bergstrom, Jeffrey Leckrone, Garrett Ross, and Jeremy Robertson finished first at 1:39.44, and Carsen Mumford, Mark Dye, Gareth Mancini, and Kolin Hoffman took second at 1:41.55. Austin Farrar finished first in the 1000 freestyle at 10:07.22, while Chris Cassingham was second at 10:28.09.

Brian Harnish won the 200 yard freestyle at 1:49.00, as the Eagles went 1-2-3. Dye won the 100 breaststroke at 1:01.25, edging out teammate Kenyon Huber-Wilker. Noah Carpenter won the 200 butterfly as the Eagles finished 1-2-3, and Ross won the 100 free at 49.10. Mumford took first in the 200 backstroke at 2:02.89, with Bergstrom taking second at 2:05.73.

Leckrone won the 200 breaststroke at 2:08.83, just ahead of Huber-Wilker, and Hoffman won the 500 free at 4:57.43, just ahead of Cassingham and Josh Duke. Leckrone then won the 100 fly at 53.54, with Bradley Torrington taking second.

Farrar won the 400 IM at 4:17.48, as UMW finished 1-2-3-4. The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday when they host Gettysburg College at 1:00 p.m.
