UMW Men's Swimmers Top Marymount, 203-44, on Monday

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team dominated with a 203-44 victory over Marymount University on Monday at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles opened the day with a 1-2 finish in the 200 yard medley relay. Luke Bergstrom, Mark Dye, Jeffrey Leckrone, and Jeremy Robertson took first, at 1:39.51. Noah Carpenter took first in the 100 freestyle at 10:21.61, with Bradley Torrington taking second. Kenyon Huber-Wilker won the 200 yard freestyle at 1:49.75, with Joshua Duke taking second.

Bergstrom won the 100 backstroke at 57.44, with Gareth Mancini taking second, and Leckrone won the 100 breaststroke at 59.03, just ahead of teammate Matthew Martinez. Kolin Hoffman won the 200 butterfly at 2:03.18, as the Eagles finished 1-2-3. Garrett Ross won the 50 free at 21.88, with Jeremy Robertson taking second at 22.44. Leckrone won the 100 free at 48.74 as UMW finished 1-2-3, and Bergstrom won the 200 backstroke at 2:07.58.

Carpenter won the 200 breaststroke, just at ahead of Dye, at 2:17.14, and Austin Farrar won the 500 free at 4:55.36, as UMW went 1-2-3. Hoffman won the 100 fly at 56.32, and Leckrone won the 200 IM at 2:00.22. The Eagles closed the day finishing 1-2 in the 200 free relay, with Dye, Carpenter, Farrar, and Ross touching the line at 1:30.11.

UMW will be back in action on Saturday when they visit St. Mary's College at 1 p.m.
