UMW Men's Swimming Tops Barton, 161-94

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team improved to 6-1 on the season with a 161-94 victory over visiting Barton College on Saturday at Goolrick Natatorium.

The Eagles opened by finishing 1-2 in the 200 medley relay, as John Orsa, Clark Hou, Kolin Hoffman, and Jeremy Robertson finished first at 1:40.83, and Luke Bergstrom, Mark Dye, Brian Harnish, and Garrett Ross finished at 1:40.91. Austin Farrar won the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:18.10, Hou won the 100 breastroke at 1:00.19 (with Dye taking second), and Hoffman won the 200 yard butterfly at 2:02.77.

Ross won the 50 free at 22.14, Bergstrom won the 200 backstroke at 2:04.46 (with Carson Mumford taking second), and Hou came back to win the 200 breaststroke at 2:15.13. Hoffman repeated with a first place finish in the 500 free at 4:56.24, and Farrar won the 400 IM at 4:24.34, as the Eagles finished 1-2-3.

UMW will host Marymount University next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
