UMW Men's Swimmers Start Strongly on Day One of 2017 CAC Championships

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team started strongly on day one fo the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference Championships on Friday in St. Mary's City, Md.

The men's 200 yard freestyle relay started with a first place finish at 1:23.84. That relay consisted of Dallas Tarkenton, Garrett Ross, Dylan Gore, and Jake Schroth. The Eagles went 2-3-4 in the 500 free, with freshman Austin Farrar taking second at 4:39.47, and Tyler Gimple placing third and Chris Cassingham fourth.

Tarkenton won the 200 IM final at 1:52.94, after swimming 1:52.67 in the morning swim. Kenyon Huber-Wilker was third in the event, while Noah Carpenter was fourth, Christian Berardo fifth, and Dylan Gore sixth.

Garrett Ross was fourth in the 50 freestyle. The Eagles' 400 medley relay was disqualified.
