UMW Men's Swimmers Top Randolph-Macon, 143-61

The University of Mary Washington men's swim team defeated Randolph-Macon College, 143-61, on Saturday in Ashland, Va. to improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Eagles started with a win in the 200 medley relay, with Quin Shurow, Mark Dye, Dallas Tarkenton, and Garrett Ross touching out at 1:39.12. Chris Cassingham followed with a win in the 1000 yard freestyle at 10:45.99, and Austin Farrar won the 200 freestyle at 1:48.12.

Noah Carpenter won the 400 IM at 4:24.55, Tarkenton won the 100 butterfly at 52.22, and Jake Schroth won the 100 free at 49.77. Shurow won the 100 backstroke at 56.80, Farrar followed with a win in the 500 free at 4:54.68, and the 200 free relay of Tarkenton, Jeremy Robertson, Christian Berardo, and Tyler Gimple capped the meet with a win at 1:30.44.

UMW will be back in action on November 5 when they visit Marymount University at 2 p.m.
