UMW Men's Swimming Captures 15th Straight CAC Crown; Anderson and Brethauer Gain Top Honors

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team captured its 15th straight Capital Athletic Conference championship on Sunday night. Senior Alex Anderson was named the CAC Men's Swimmer of the Year, and head coach Abby Brethauer was named CAC Coach of the Year.

On Sunday night, the Eagles started by finishing 1-2-3 in the mile, with Tyler Gimple taking first at 16:08.49, followed by Zach Eisig in second and Chris Cassingham in third. Anthony Stephens took third in the 200 backstroke, with Dylan Gore taking fourth.

Junior Sean Mayer won the 100 freestyle at 46.93, followed closely by Vance Solseth in second at 47.16. Freshman Kenyon Huber-Wilker took second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:04.11, which qualifies him provisionally for the NCAA Championship.

Anderson then went on to win the 200 butterfly with an NCAA qualifying time of 1:46.56, with Dallas Tarkenton finishing second with an NCAA cut time of 1:53.40.

The 400 free relay of Anderson, Sean Mayer, Vance Solseth and Matt Garstka finished first with a time of 3:06.00.
