UMW Men's Swimmers Place Second at Gettysburg Invitational

The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team finished in second place at the Gettysburg College Invitational on Friday night and Saturday at Gettysburg College. UMW finished behind just the host Bullets, with 719 points.

Freshman Kenyon Huber-Wilker took first place in the 200 yard breastsroke with a time of 2:06.68. Nate Hartt finished first in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.86. Zach Eisig was first in the 1650 freestyle at 16:27.15, followed in second by Chris Cassingham at 16:33.99.

The Eagles went 1-2-3 in the 100 yard butterfly, as Misha Yelmgren took first at 50.76, Sean Mayer was second at 51.03, and Dallas Tarkenton was third at 51.05. Huber-Wilker won the 100 breaststroke at 58.23, and the 800 free relay took first at 6:59.57, and consisted of Mayer, Eisig, Cassingham, and Tyler Gimple.

UMW finished 1-2-3 in the 500 free, as Gimple was first at 4:41.18, Cassingham was second at 4:43.08, and Eisig was third at 4:47.27. Tarkenton won the 200 IM at 1:55.82.

The Eagles will be back in action on January 10 when they host Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
