Back to Back: UMW Men's Swimming Repeats as CAC Champions

St. Mary's, Md.-- The University of Mary Washington men's swim team repeated as CAC Champions after the final day of the event. UMW finished with 937 points, over 300 more than second place St. Mary's. 

The Eagle quartet of Alex Anderson, Dallas Tarkenton, Matthew Garstka, and Henry Bassett took the only relay of the day in the 400 free relay. The team won in a time of 3:04.74.

Zach Eisig started the event off with a win in the 1650 free with a time of 16:14.88. Bassett picked up an individual win in the 100 free (46.10), while Tarkenton took third with a time of 47.75. Alex Anderson continued his record breaking meet, swimming the third fastest time in NCAA Division III history and broke his lifetime best in the 200 fly. Anderson took gold with a time of 1:46.13. Nate Hartt and Tyler Gimple went two-three behind Anderson in the event. 

Several Eagles earned awards after the meet. Anderson won Co-Swimmer of the Year with Kyle Walthall (YCP). Henry Basset was named Rookie of the Year, while coach Abby Brethauer won Coach of the Year.
