Eagles Have Record Breaking Day at CAC Championships

St. Mary's Md.-- The University of Mary Washington men's swim team had another big day at the CAC Championships. The Eagles maintained their first place standing, increasing their lead with 634 points. The Eagles will finish the event tomorrow.

The Eagles won both relays, in the 200 medley and 800 free relays. Sean Mayer, Vance Solseth, Dallas Tarkenton and Henry Bassett won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.13, just two seconds ahead of York College. Solseth then teamed with Alex Anderson, Nate Moyar and Tyler Gimple to with the 800 free relay with a time of 6:51.21. 

Anderson then turned in the fourth fastest time in the 400 IM in NCAA Division III history. Anderson won with a time of 3:52.63. He also owns the fastest time in history at 3:50.55. The Eagles went 1-2-4 in the 100 fly, with Sean Mayer winning in 50.39. Dallas Tarkenton and Nate Hartt went two-four with times of 50.51, and 53.21. Gimple, Solseth and Zach Eisig swept the podium in the 200 free. Gimple won in 1:42.62. Bassett and Mayer went 1-2 in the 100 back with Bassett going 50.26 and Mayer with a time of 50.60. 

UMW closes out the CAC Championships tomorrow at St. Mary's with prelims at 10:00 a.m. and finals at 6:00 p.m. Fans can keep up to date with the event by following the live results at
