Men's Swimming Cruises Past Salisbury, 159-46, on Saturday

Fredericksburg, Va.-- The UMW men's swimming team picked up another CAC victory over Salisbury on Saturday. The win moves the Eagles to 5-1, 2-0 CAC on the year. 

UMW opened and ended the meet with relay wins in the 400 Medley and 400 Free relays. The team of Ryan McGhee, Michael Purdue, Dallas Tarkenton, and Alex Anderson were the only team in the 400 Medley Relay, but still won with a time of 3:40.91. Tarkenton teamed up with Mike Hudgins, Dylan Gore and Tyler Gimple to win the 400 Free Relay in a time of 3:19.47.

The Eagles won all nine individual races, including sweeps in five of the nine races. Zach Eisig (10:26.02), Dylan Gore (10:53) and Carey Natoli (11:05.38) finished first, second, and third respectively in the 100 Free. Tyler Gimple went on the win the 200 Free in a time of 1:49.78, while Eisig and Connor Nye finished in second and third.

Alex Anderson won two events on the day, in the 50 Free and 100 Back. Nate Moyar won the 400 IM in a time of 4:29.57, while McGhee finished second with a time of 4:35.52. Tarkenton and Hudgins picked up individual victories in the 100 Fly and 100 Free respectively. Tarkenton won in a time of 53.81, while Hudgins won in 50.43.

Gimple picked up his second win in the 500 Free with a time of 4:59.45. Purdue finished the day winning the 100 Breast in a time of 1:03.35.

The Eagles return to action next Saturday, January 18th, when they face CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.). The meet is also Senior Night, with recognition of the seniors prior to the meet.
