Eagle Men Have Strong Showing at Howard on Saturday

Depth proved to be the name of the game today as the Eagles swam to a win over division one foes Howard University today. While they were able to win both relay events, the individual contests were much closer with a lot of great races between the teams.

The Eagles were paced by double wins from Zach Eisig in the 200 and 500 yard freestyle and Alex Anderson in the 200 backstroke and 200 IM. Also recording victories for the Eagles were Nate Hartt, Matt Garstka, Vance Solseth and Michael Perdue.

"I was pleased with how the team competed," said coach Abby Brethauer. "Our guys love to race and that was apparent top to bottom today. It was great to see how they took advantage of the opportunity to race a division one program, especially Michael Perdue who swam to his first collegiate win in the 200 breaststroke."

The team will return to action next Friday and Saturday at the Gettysburg Invitational where the Eagles wrap up first semester competition.
