Men's Swimming Downs Randolph-Macon, 133-72

RESULTS

Fredericksburg, Va.-- The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team had an impressive showing Saturday in their dual meet with the Yellow Jackets. The Eagles win moves the team to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. 

The team started off the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Alex Anderson, Michael Purdue, Misha Yelmgren, and Mike Hudgins won with a time of 1:39.11. The quartet of Henry Bassett, Don Tucker, Dallas Tarkenton, and Nathaniel Frazer finished second, just one tenth behind the winners.

UMW went on to win eight of the nine individual races to seal the victory. Alex Anderson was a winner in the 400 IM (4:05.32), while Don Tucker was a winner in the 100 Breast (1:00.73). Tyler Gimple was a two event winner for the Eagles. Gimple won the 1000 Free in 10:09.89, a full 23 sconds ahead of second place. Gimple went on to win the other distance event, the 500 Free in a time of 4:56.51.

Other Eagle winners include Zach Eisig in the 200 Free (1:49.25), Henry Bassett in the 50 Free (judge's decision), Sean Mayer in the 100 Fly (54.27) and Dallas Tarkenton in the 100 Free (48.86). 

The Eagles return to action next Saturday, November 16th at Howard. The meet begins at 1:00 p.m.
