The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team captured its 23rd consecutive Capital Athletic Conference Championship on Sunday night, easily outdistancing the field and winning all but three races in the entire championship.

On Sunday night, the Eagle women started off win from Jessica Singer in the mile, at 17:31.37, followed in second by Ashley Walnut and in third by Maddie Carinci. In the 200 yard backstroke, the Eagles saw six finalists, including the top four finishers, led by Lindsay Ancellotti in first at 2:07.69, and followed by Robin Brazier, Katie Fago, and Catherine Perrin.

Freshman Stephanie Hallock won the 100 yard freestyle at 52.98, followed in second by Tara Banks. In the 200 yard breaststroke, junior Amber Kerico destroyed the conference record and qualified automatically for the NCAA Championships with a winning time of 2:17.54.UMW also finished third, fourth, and fifth in the event.

Freshman Abby Cox took second in the 200 yard butterfly, and the 400 freestyle relay took first at 3:34.16. That relay consisted of Katie Fago, Tara Banks, Stephanie Hallock, and Jessica Singer.

UMW head coach Abby Brethauer was named as the league's Coach of the Year, while Kerico was named Swimmer of the Year, and Katie Fago Rookie of the Year.

100 breaststroke - B cut, new CAC and school record
200 breaststroke - A cut, new CAC and school record
