Norfolk, Clendenin Swim Lifetime Bests at NCAA Championship Prelims on Wednesday
University of Mary Washington junior Billy Norfolk (Fairfax, Va., Chantilly) and senior Stephen Clendenin (Ashburn, Va., Home Schooled) both swam lifetime bests in their preliminary swims at the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming Championships on Wednesday morning at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Norfolk, swimming in the 500 freestyle, bettered his lifetime best by a second in going 4:45.95, which placed him 30th. Clendenin, seeded 10th before the meet in the 200 individual medley, will enter the finals this evening seeded third after bettering his own school and CAC record time by swimming 1:50.67, just .15 seconds off the first place time.
