Francesconi, Rogers Capture C2C Weekly Awards in Men's Soccer

For the first time this season, No. 2 Mary Washington swept the Coast-to-Coast conference weekly award with Gabe Francesconi (offensive) and Freddy Rogers (defensive) taking home the honors on Monday, the conference announced.

In UMW's win over Salisbury on Saturday, Francesconi scored a goal and added an assist in the 5-0 victory. He scored the Eagles' fourth goal of the game, while assisting on the team's second score of the day. In all, he recorded three points in the win and nearly had a brace with a shot that hit off the bottom of the crossbar. He applied some of the most pressure the Seagulls faced -- leading the Eagles in shots with four total.

On the defensive side, Rogers held Salisbury scoreless in the 78 minutes he played in the 5-0 victory on Saturday. Rogers, an England, United Kingdom native, participated in the Eagles' seventh shutout of the season. He saved three shots, while Salisbury launched a total of seven.
