UMW Men's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw with Salisbury

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team battled to a scoreless tie with Salisbury on Saturday afternoon at a rainy Battleground in Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference play. The Eagles move to 6-3-2 on the season.

In a tightly-contested defensive battle, the two teams combined for just 15 shots in 110 minutes of action. UMW goalkeeper Ken Kurtz (Katonah, N.Y. / Somers) was equal to the challenge, making three diving snares of Sea Gull shots to keep the score at 0-0.

The Eagles held a 9-6 edge in shots, as well as a 9-4 advantage in corner kicks. Kurtz made three saves, all of which would prove pivotal.

UMW will return to action on Wednesday night when they visit St. Mary's College at 7:00 p.m. in nonconference action.
