UMW Men's Soccer Falls at NC Wesleyan, 2-0, on Saturday

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at North Carolina Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon in Rockey Mount, N.C. The Eagles slip to 4-2-1 on the season.

The Eagles held an advantage in possession and shots in the first half, but couldn't find the back of the nets, sending the game to halftime in a scoreless tie. The Battling Bishops opened the second half with an early goal in the first five minutes, and added a second score with 23:26 remaining for a 2-0 cushion.

Mary Washington led in shots, 10-8, as well as corner kicks, 8-1. UMW senior goalkeeper Ken Kurtz (Katonah, N.Y. / Somers) made two saves in goal on the day.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday when they host Stevenson University at 4:00 p.m.
