UMW Men's Soccer Sees Four Named to United Soccer Coaches' All-Region Team

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team saw its list of accolades grow on Monday, as the United Soccer Coaches announced its all-region teams. Four Eagles were named, including junior goalkeeper Ken Kurtz and senior midfielder Gabriel Soriano to the first team, senior defender Ben Ahrens to the second team, and junior forward Jeremy Hokenson to the third team.

Kurtz repeated as a first team All-Capital Athletic Conference selection this fall, recording 64 saves with a 0.70 goals-against average. Soriano scored nine goals and dished out seven assists to lead the team in scoring.

Ahrens scored four goals and added one assist from his defender position as he gained all-conference honors for the second straight year. Hokenson scored eight goals and added five assists for 21 points on the season.
