UMW Men's Soccer Slips to 4-1 with 2-1 Loss to Berry on Sunday

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Berry College on Sunday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C. With the loss, the Eagles slip to 4-1 on the campaign.

After a scoreless first half, it was the Eagles who jumped out in front, as senior Riley Fisher scored on a Matt Spencer assist at 52:45. Berry responded 10 minutes later to knot the score on a tally from Steven Moore. Moore would score again at 75:43 for the eventual game winner.

The Eagles led in shots, 10-3, and in corner kicks, 4-0. Spencer had one save in goal for the Eagles, while Carson Oakes had six stops for Berry.

Mary Washington will be back in action on September 17 when they visit Roanoke College at 6:00 p.m.
