UMW Men's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision at Salisbury in CAC Semifinal

The Salisbury University men's soccer team scored goals early in each half for a 2-0 victory over the University of Mary Washington in Capital Athletic Conference Semifinal action on Wednesday in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles drop to 12-6-2 on the season.

Salisbury started the scoring early, as Brooks Zentgraf scored at 4:33 to put the Sea Gulls ahead. The game remained 1-0 at halftime.

In the second, Salisbury started strong again, with Leslie Umunna scoring at 47:16. Despite outshooting the Gulls, 12-9, the Eagles were unable to draw closer before the final horn.

Sophomore Matt Spencer had one save in goal for the Eagles, while Drew Staedeli had five saves for Salisbury, who led 7-4 in corner kicks.

With the defeat, the Eagles fall into a tie with the Sea Gulls for most overall wins in the conference for the year. UMW finishes with a 12-6-2 mark.
