Cisse's First Half Hat trick Lifts UMW Men's Soccer to 6-0 Win at Penn State Harrisburg in Regular Season Finale

Sophomore Ben Cisse scored the first three goals of the game to lead the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team to a 6-0 victory at Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon in the regular season finale. With the win, the Eagles gain the fourth seed in the Capital Athletic Conference Tournament, starting on Saturday.

Cisse scored unassisted 1:03 into the game, and scored again on a Jack Saslowsky assist at 6:01. He completed the natural hat trick on a Mike Bennett assist at 13:33. Sophomore Conor Nogueira made the score 4-0 at 24:54, and the Eagles led at halftime by that same score.

Bennett found the scoring column 3:18 into the second half, and freshman Justin Carey added another at 54:52, on a Bennett assist.

In addition to Cisse's three goals, Bennett added a goal and two assists for the Eagles. UMW outshot the Lions, 18-8, and had nine corner kicks to two for the hosts. Sophomore goalie Matt Spencer had a clean first half in goal for the Eagles, while Curran Smolinsky had one save in the second half.

The Eagles will be the fourth seed in the CAC Tournament, starting on Saturday. UMW will host the fifth seed, either Marymount, St. Mary's, or Christopher Newport, on Saturday at 2 p.m.
