UMW Men's Soccer Falls at York, 1-0, in Saturday CAC Tilt

The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at York College on Saturday to fall to 9-4 on the season, and 2-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play.

In a fairly even-matched contest, the Spartans were able to break the ice at 33:19, when Christopher Saberton scored on a Matt Freibaum assist. Although both sides would have several more shots until the final whistle, neither would score.

York led in shots, 14-11, with both teams putting three shots on frame. The Eagles led in corner kicks, 5-3. Sophomore Matt Spencer had two saves for the Eagles, while Charlie Johnson had three saves for York.

Mary Washington will return to action on Wednesday when they visit Southern Virginia University at 5:00 p.m. in another CAC game.
